Stiff Records. If it ain't stiff it ain’t worth a f***.
Since 1976, Stiff Records has been the heart of punk rock and new wave. Founded by Dave Robinson and Jake Riviera in London, Stiff brought diverse and innovative artists to the world, as well as what is generally regarded as the first U.K. punk rock single, New Rose by The Damned.
A bunch of stiffs! You’re in good company, the likes of Elvis Costello, Madness, Ian Dury, Jona Lewie, Kirsty MacColl and The Pogues all made their name with the label.
Stiff continues pushing their witty, provocative doctrine to this day, with the 2012 UK #1 single Bom Bom by Sam And The Womp and a back catalogue of revered, genre defining punk and new wave released throughout the 70s and 80s
We are ‘The World’s Most Flexible Record Label’. We lead where others follow – but can’t keep up.
